Seven Ways to Store Fresh Food Longer

Are there difficult days ahead?  Will there be food shortages, drought, and famine across the land?  What can I do to be prepared? These are some of the questions I hear regularly from people as I am out-and-about. Understandably, people all over are very concerned about what is going on in the world and are looking for ways to be prepare their families for the future.  Even the very wealthy are preparing for an uncertain future, as they are constructing elaborate “bug-out” facilities to provide safety for themselves and their families. Obviously, I believe Preparedness is important.  In fact, throughout […]

Prepare Your Family for Home Emergencies

Right now is the time to prepare your family for emergencies and difficulties.  Times are getting much more difficult, and will continue to see an increasing intensity. The fact is, no-one knows exactly what specific problems or challenges that could eventually result during a major and over-all emergency event.  The best thing right now if to prepare for situations that could cause disruption to your normal lifestyle. Certainly we do not want to operate in fear, so preparing will help us get our families ready when stressful times approach – and will enable us to help others who may struggle […]

A Time of Increasing Intensity

by Joseph
In my lifetime, I have never seen such despair and ambivalence. People are afraid and many are losing hope. The times have impressed people to begin living more simple lives, and to prepare. In fact, many people have felt a call to prepare and to be ready for the difficulties that are approaching. Those difficulties could be in the form of political or economic crisis, or they could be a catastrophic natural event like an earthquake or drought. Whatever the difficulty, countless families are now seeing the importance of preparing. My family has been in active preparation for years now, […]

US Government Warns of Revelation Apocalypse?

As we continue with the assignment of sharing the need for preparation, it seems we are now joined by the US Government in proclaiming the need to prepare for the Last Days Apocalypse. In fact, in a recent and popular post on the Center for Disease Control site there was a somewhat disturbing article entitled “Preparedness -101:  Zombie Apocalypse“. Do you think the US Government knows something they are not fully disclosing to a sheepish public?  Well of course they do. I am quite sure the title of this recent article was carefully chosen to create attention and interest from […]

Stop Looking Back! Now is the time to look forward

I am convinced that there is going to be an increasing intensity of difficulties that we must face.  As times get more difficult and events become more intense, it is increasingly important that we prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. In the last several years of my life, it seems that I have been (and continue to be) led through a “purging process”.  This process has been painful, especially as I tried to hold onto many things that I had accumulated along the journey. Now I realize, the purging is helping to lighten the load I am carrying so […]

Be Prepared, but don’t be busy?

by Joseph
As I have shared often I believe there is an increasing urgency to get prepared.  With every passing day I am more convinced with the increasingly intense need to prepare – and every day my family is busy with preparing. The comments that will be expressed here will seem to be somewhat contradictory.   I assure you there is not a contradiction, but the confusion will lie in the interpretation. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with two of my dearest friends – specifically about the topic of preparation.  I hear from people all the time about their concerns and […]

Prepare: The Increasing Intensity

My wife and I are blessed with three beautiful children.  My youngest is about to be 21 years old. I had the incredible joy of experiencing the birth of each of my kids, and welcoming them into their family.   I was with my wife at every moment during the labor. We often joke about the moments of labor, and how I tried to comfort my wife during the contractions.  It was certainly a painful experience for my precious wife, but also a beautiful time in our lives.   Most parents can relate to the difficulties of the birth process and the […]

Preparing the wrong way

I’ve been talking about preparation for a LONG TIME – far longer than most people even considered preparing. Like many of the current preppers, I’ve been called an “alarmist”, fearmonger, ignorant, silly, and a few other choice words. Today, “preparation” is a very common discussion – and there is actually a whole movement of people called – “preppers”. I’m finding out that preppers consider themselves different from survivalist – kindof a survivalist lite. Many people are now saying they received a “call” to prepare. I felt that same call many years ago, and actually was one of the first to […]

Preparing For the Best

All over the world, things are tough right now for a lot of people. If you have listened to the news at all, you have likely experienced discouragement with all the terrible things you may have heard or read. In fact, literally as I was typing this post I received word that a business colleague had taken his own life. Obviously, there is a lot of suffering right now all over the globe. On a personal level, things been extremely difficult for my family over the last several years. In recent months, I have spoken to many people who are […]

Economic Disaster looms

by Joseph
The Great Depression was a global crisis that started in most Countries in 1929 and ending at different times in the late 1930s or early 1940s. Obviously, most people have heard of this significant economic downturn, as it was the largest and most important economic depression in modern history. The Great Depression started in the United States, with the general view of historian identifying the stock market crash on October 29, 1929 as the origination date. It’s interesting that the end of the depression in the U.S is associated with the war economy of World War II, beginning around 1939. […]
